Scene Summary

Forrest Runs Across the Country : Years later, after returning from the Vietnam War, Forrest spontaneously starts running across the United States. He continues running for 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, and 16 hours, becoming a national phenomenon known as "The Running Man." Forrest Stops Running : After running for over 3 years, Forrest suddenly stops running one day, simply because he feels like stopping. He tells the crowd of reporters following him that he's "pretty tired" and "thinks I'll go home now." This abrupt end to his epic run leaves onlookers bewildered.
