Gump starts a shrim company

📃 Scene Summary

After Forrest's best friend Bubba is killed in the Vietnam War, Forrest decides to honor his memory by starting a shrimping company called Bubba Gump Shrimp. Bubba had previously convinced Forrest to get into the shrimping business together after the war. After returning from Vietnam, Forrest uses the money he earned from his investments and his Medal of Honor to start the company. He partners with his commanding officer, Lieutenant Dan Taylor, who becomes his business partner. The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company becomes very successful, with Forrest's shrimping skills and Lieutenant Dan's business acumen. The company grows to have locations around the world.
