Scene Summary
At school Impressed by Forrest's running ability, Coach Bryant offers him a football scholarship to the University of Alabama. At Alabama, Forrest's speed helps the team win several games. He plays for five years wearing jersey number 44, believed to be a reference to his birth year in 1944. Forrest is later named to the All-American team and gets to meet President John F. Kennedy at the White House.
